During the inspection of the main inlet to the Ara Hard, damage was discovered to the sewage steel pipes that cross the Toess. The steel pipes from 1947 were then subjected to a material technology condition examination. The results showed that the 76-year-oldsCarbon steel pipes were and still are exposed to extensive attack on the inside (corrosion) over their service life. The pipe wall inner surfaces were severely weakened by trough corrosion. The critical remaining wall thickness will be reached or fallen below by the end of 2025. in this time periodThe usability suddenly ends. The existing, accessible sewer pipes before and after the pipe bridge are in poor structural condition. The in-situ concrete channels must be replaced depending on their capacity, condition and object.
