The Government of Liberia (GOL), through various entities, including the Ministry of Financeand Development Planning (MFDP), National Investment Commission (NIC) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), has made substantial efforts to improve the enabling environment for private sector investment and the ease processes for doing business. The GOL has initiated actions establishing Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to attract investment, generate employment, and develop the country-s workforce. To do this, the GOL passed the Special Economic Zones Act of 2017.
