Description: The Falkland Islands Government has the ambition to protect 15% of its waters as Marine Managed Areas, helping to protect biodiversity and support a sustainable marine economy. The Environment Department is looking for a specialist with significant experience of marine protected area policy and management to deliver a project to help make this a reality. The Marine Protected Areas Specialist will develop a world class framework and policy options for marine managed areas and their management in the Falkland Islands. Hybrid working is anticipated, with short periods of time that will need to be spent in the Falkland Islands. A contract will be established between the Environment Department and the marine protected areas specialist.
