Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT)-Civil Aviation Affairs provides connectivity for air navigation systems between the Air Traffic Management Center in the Kingdom of Bahrain and other centers via direct communication lines with adjacent countries. These direct lines are used to exchange important information related to aviation, which includes flight information, MET information, and direct voice communications between Air Traffic Centers. These direct lines currently operate with IPLC technology, where the support by telecommunications companies for this type of old technology will end at the end of this year 2023. Therefore, obtaining an alternative technology that suits the requirements of civil aviation affairs is required. It was concluded that [GMPLS] and [VPN-Over-Internet] technologies can be used to do the required work. Accordingly, the Air Navigation Systems Directorate will replace the old lines with new ones.
