ewz has been operating a three-stage, horizontal-axis 30 MW storage pump with feed pump from the manufacturer Escher Wyss at the Loebbia power plant since 1967. This pumps the water from the Loebbia compensation basin into the Albigna reservoir, which is approximately 700 m higher. There will be a new Loebbia storage pump as well
