The World Bank is looking for a consultancyto carry out field measurements of methane (CH4) emissions from bovine livestockproduction and assess the mitigation opportunities of low-emission livestocktechnologies prioritized by the Colombia Nationally Appropriate MitigationActions for the cattle ranching sector (NAMA-Bovine / NAMA-B). The results willbe used as input for building technology adoption scenarios and evaluate climateand financial gains from implementing methane emission reduction strategies inlivestock systems.Thisconsultancy aims to identify and validate key results indicators for methaneemissions in livestock farms, enablingaccess to RBF and payments for emissions reductions. Methane data will be tracked andevaluated across livestock systems with different levels of technology adoption. Specifically, this study will examine methane emissions from two groups offarms in Colombia's Orinoquía region. Group 1 comprises 1, 000 farms withminimal adoption technology, currently involved in an ongoing WB study. Group 2 consists of 25 farms which haveinitiated technology adoption through two WB projects that have already closed.A subsample of the farms in each of the two groups will be used for theproposed study which includes four components.
