This agency proposes to issue a solicitation for a sole source contract which will include a best estimated quantity (BEQ) of 200 each of a Lithium-Ion Battery, NSN: 9999-99-999-9999, Part Number: 13711265, to support the Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS) Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wireless-guided (TOW) Weapon System. A total of one (1) NSN is targeted for this contract effort. The proposed sole source action will be issued to Saft America (CAGE): 0SUJ7 and is intended to be on a sole source basis as supported by a J&A IAW FAR 6.302-1 “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements”.

The proposed requirement will be for a total of three (3) calendar years period of performance. This action will result in the award of a new contract, which will be a firm-fixed price, three (3) year Indefinite-Quantity (IDR) type contract. The letters expressing interest in subcontracting provided to the contracting officer will be forwarded to the identified OEM. This is proposed to be a FAR 15 effort.

THIS ACQUISITION CONTAINS TECHNICAL DATA WHOSE EXPORT IS RESTRICTED BY THE ARMS EXPORT CONTROL ACT (TITLE 22, USC., SEC 2751 ET SEQ) OR THE EXPORT ADMINISTRATION ACT (TITLE 50, USC., APP 2401-2402) EXECUTIVE ORDER 12470. THIS INFORMATION CANNOT BE RELEASED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNMENT.
