In order to supply a newly built residential area with heat energy, Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH is building a geothermal power plant to supply heat. For this purpose, a duplicate borehole was drilled and tested in the first half of 2023. The extraction operation should consist of one of the followingThe thermal brine is pumped into the boreholes (Gt Potsdam 15) using an electric submersible centrifugal pump (TKP, ESP) and the liquid is injected back into the same reservoir after the heat has been removed in the second borehole (Gt Potsdam 14a). If necessary, the injection well should be cleared in advance, cleaned and then completed with a protective tube tour. The deep pump must be installed in the production well. Both boreholes are then connected to the field pipes of the thermal water circuit.
