The RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) Program and the Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) Program is responsible for ensuring the RCMP has the operational capability and equipment to respond to and resolve a range of critical incidents including: Hostage Rescue, Active Threats, High Risk Search Warrants, Armed and Barricaded incidents, explosives searches/disposal, and other high-risk incidents. In support of its mandate, RCMP ERT has a requirement to establish one National Individual Standing Offer (NISO) for its requirement of “as and when requested” man-portable tactical robots to be delivered to various Royal Canadian Mounted Police locations across Canada.
