Step 1 (related to business formalisation procedures): Based on guidance provided by the ILO, compile a draft report on business registration and compliance procedures for enterprises and/or own-account workers. The report should cover all regulations and procedures that apply to registered enterprises and workers in Solomon Islands in terms of bookkeeping, taxation, social security, labour laws and sectoral regulations, at both national and local levels. The report should also include information on the institutions that support business formalisation, the support services available and the costs, timeframes and documentation required for each procedure. Corresponding documents should be added as annexes such as registration forms, sample contracts, etc.Step 2 (related to business formalisation benefits):To gather information on formalisation benefits, a small business survey should be administered. The specific objective of the survey is to capture - to the extent possible - business owners- perceptions as well as theoretically existing benefits linked to business registration and continuous compliance with required procedures.
