OUH needs to build a new contemporary freezer house at the new OUH. The new freezer house must have an estimated gross area of approx. 1, 800 m2 in the ground floor and approx. 1, 400 m2 on Plan 1. The building is expected to be built as a concrete building or as a steel structure, which in design harmonizes with other buildings in the service town. The new freezer house is planned located in connection with the service town, built at the new OUH. The building is furnished with four freezer rooms and associated engine rooms with space for compressors, etc. Capacity in the new freezer house will have to be approx. 700 conventional minus 80 degree freezers. In addition, the building must accommodate a room to be used for handling samples to and from the freezer using a smaller number of minus 80 degree freezers as well as a number of minus 140 degree freezers. Associated staff rooms and toilet facilities are established. In addition, nitrogen tanks and possibly emergency generator. The freezer house must include tissue samples, blood tests and cell samples from various laboratory specials, which are primarily used in connection with research projects.
