Description

NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego-Seal Beach Detachment intends to award a sole source contract to order, to Matterport. Matterport is an interactive 3-D space capture and modeling software/camera system that immerses students into a virtual learning environment. It includes special features unique to Matterport, such as Mattertags, which can be used to attach pictures, text, and videos to points of interest within a 3-D captured/modeled space. These tools directly support the CECOS mission for using multimedia to enhance our curriculum. Both instructors and broadcast personnel will have the ability to capture field environments for instruction. Matterport is the most cost effective 3-D space capture/modeling software on the market. It is used by several other military components, and is supported by NETC as a tool to replicate hands on learning in a virtual environment. The Matterport 3-D camera and software also directly supports the CO's vision of advancing state-of-the art technology tools and increasing the availability of online learning. Once approved, instructors or multimedia personnel will select a site of interest to capture in 360 photographic series, produce a 3D model, and incorporate into a course of instruction as a “proof of concept” supplemental instruction tool. If successful, more instructors and multimedia personnel will be trained to use the program, and more supplemental tools of training will be created and incorporated into existing course material.

MATTERPORT Pro3 Acceleration Kit - 1EA. GOV+50, 12-month subscription commitment with 50 active spaces, 100 archived spaces, and 5 SSO/SAML-enabled users - 1EA.
