Special Notice Notice of Intent to Sole SourcePLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHEDThe Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, intends to negotiate and award a sole-source, firm fixed price, Order under Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)-DLA Troop Support, Joint Radiology, and Imaging contract SPE2D1-17-D-0019 for annual radiology maintenance, service and support programs to:Carestream Health, Inc.150 Verona St.Rochester, NY 14608SAM UEI: LW7TCQ76CJD5The Boise VA Medical Center located in Boise, ID has a requirement for a contractor to provide maintenance and support services necessary to maintain their DRx Evolution Mobile x-Ray Imaging systems in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.Based on market research and previous acquisition history, it has been determined that the OEM, Carestream Health, is the only source with the qualifications and capability to perform the required services due to the proprietary nature of the systemThe contract is expected to be awarded under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 16.505(b)(2)(i)(B), only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized. Carestream Health is the only vendor who can perform maintenance on its Carestream Health Radiology and Imaging Systems and ensure the installed systems performance is maintained, per Carestream Health Sole-Source letter.
