Description
STATEMENT OF WORK 528A8-809 Build New Emergency Department General Intention: The Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY has a need for new Emergency Department to be added to the main hospital. The new addition will have connecting corridors to the main hospital core. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, significant excavation and site work, furnish all labor and materials, and perform work for construction of a New Emergency Department as required by the drawings and specifications. Work includes demolition, asbestos abatement, excavation, site work, exterior improvements, general construction, alterations, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical work, fire alarm and sprinkler work, medical gas work, lead shielding, installation of equipment provided by third-party vendors, low-voltage communications and controls work, and certain other items. Visits to the site by Contractors may be made as documented in the formal solicitation of the Project. Offices of Fellenzer Engineering LLP, as Architect-Engineers, will render certain technical services during construction. Such services shall be considered as advisory to the Government and shall not be construed as expressing or implying a contractual act of the Government without affirmations by the Contracting Officer or duly authorized representative. Before placement and installation of Work subject to tests by a testing laboratory retained by Department of Veterans Affairs as required by the Drawings and Specifications, the Contractor shall notify the COR in sufficient time to enable testing laboratory personnel to be present at the site in time for proper taking and testing of specimens and field inspections.
