It was realized as part of the third major renovation phase of the ETH main building from 1965 to 1978. The main uses of the extension are gastronomy and sports facilities that are available to students and employees of ETH Zurich and external guests. The MM building is after over 40 years of intensive use at the end of the technical lifespan and requires a holistic, especially technical, renovation.
