The extension of the university restaurant and the versatile building (MM) of the main building of the ETH in the center of the city of Zurich, designed by Charles-Edouard Geisndorf, is in the form of a 5-storey base located under the Polyterrasse. It was carried out as part of the third major transformation of the main building of the ETH, from 1965 to 1978. The main uses of the extension are restoration and sport facilities, which are available to students And ETH Zurich collaborators as well as external hosts. After more than 40 years of intensive use, the MM building has reached the end of its technical life and requires a global, mainly technical renovation.
