Detailed_Description : The objective of this Request for Bids is to establish a multi-vendor, enterprise-wide Vendor of Record (VOR) arrangement for Courier Services that is mandatory for the Ontario Public Service (OPS) and optional for Non-OPS Entities across the province.The Ontario Government requires Vendor(s) with the necessary experience and infrastructure to perform Courier Services throughout the Province of Ontario, nationally (to anywhere in Canada), the United States and other international destinations.Courier Services are widely used throughout the Ontario Government and are critical to OPS and Non-OPS Entity operations.
Scope of Work : The Courier Services VOR arrangement is intended to support the OPS business operations. The OPS is reliant on couriers to deliver items such as documents, electronic equipment, and PPE to meet ministries- business requirements and Government-s priorities.Delivery services include:• Business to business delivery (B2B);• Business to residence delivery;• Service in rural and remote areas;• Secure transport and tracking for controlled substances and dangerous goods;• Time and temperature sensitive samples and specimens for laboratory testing; and• Time-sensitive and confidential documents (including court documents).The Clients- reasons for choosing Courier Services over regular mail services include:• Speed and consistency of delivery;• Track and trace capabilities;• Proof of delivery and receipt (recipient signature); and• Legal requirement for signature upon receipt of shipment.
