Expression of Interest are invited for North Macedonia Supplier Development Program
1. Support the activities related to in-depth business diagnostics for selected SMEs: The consultant will support the assessments of business operations, financial health, market position, production process, carried out by an international team. The consultant will support the preparation of a detailed diagnostic reports with actionable recommendations tailored to each SME's unique circumstances.
2. Leverage a network of experts in production optimization, strategy development, export support, financial management, and HR, for ad-hoc consultancy: Identify and contract subject matter experts based on project needs and SME requirements. Schedule and coordinate expert consultations, workshops, and training sessions. Integrate expert recommendations into the overall project deliverables, ensuring a cohesive approach to SME support.
3. Guide and assist the SMEs to optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs: Guide and assist the SMEs to conduct process mapping and identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production workflows. Provide guidance for implementation or improvement of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement techniques. Provide training on production planning, inventory management, and quality control to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Assess and promote the adoption of advanced technologies in the manufacturing sector to enhance operational capabilities: Evaluate and asses current technology use within SMEs and identify gaps and opportunities for digital transformation. Recommend and support the implementation of advanced technologies, such as automation, IoT, and data analytics. Highlight opportunities for innovation and technological advancements and provide training on integrating these technologies into existing operations.
5. Guide and support the strategic and export capacity building activities for each participating SME to enhance their market presence: Assist the SMEs in conducting market research to identify potential export markets and assess their viability for each SME. Develop export readiness assessments and customized action plans. Provide training and resources on market entry strategies.
6. Enhance financial management capabilities of SMEs to support sustainable growth and export readiness: Support the companies in conducting financial health checks, including analysis of cash flow, profitability, and liquidity. Offer training on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to build SME financial acumen. Assist SMEs in accessing financing options and preparing investment pitches to attract potential investors.
7. Guide and support the SMEs to improve HR practices and build capacity within SMEs to enhance workforce productivity: Conduct HR audits to evaluate current practices and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement HR improvement plans, including recruitment, retention, and employee development strategies. Provide training on performance management, leadership development, and succession planning.
8. Engage with diverse stakeholders from the participating SMEs, to gather valuable insights and recommendations: Organize and facilitate focus groups, workshops, and one-on-one interviews with stakeholders to gather qualitative data. Synthesize insights to inform project strategies and actions.
