Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, intends to negotiate with Magritek, Inc. (CAGE: 75R69), located in Malvern, PA, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), soliciting from a single source to purchase a console for a 50 mT MRI System.

NIST-s Magnetic Imaging Group requires one (1) Magritek console for a 50 mT MRI System in order to replicate a study that was published at https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1090780719302174?via%3Dihub.

To collaborate across groups and to provide a controlled research environment to establish set standards, the exact same equipment is needed to alleviate challenges with troubleshooting during the build and operation of the device. To NIST-s knowledge, only Magritek, Inc. is capable of meeting this requirement.

The NAICS Code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Equipment Manufacturing, with a small business standard of 1, 000 employees. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price contract to Magritek, Inc. for this requirement.Interested parties that can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirement listed above must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.
