ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: -
Angola and Mozambique rely significantly on pharmaceutical imports and governments have prioritized the local development of this industry.
These countries also seek to take advantage of existing raw materials supporting the development of local pharmaceutical value chains or to meet a growing demand for dietary supplements and herbal medicines.
Considering the important role the private sector can play in bridging the healthcare gap in Africa, the IFC seeks the services of a Consultant to undertake Pharmaceutical Industry Diagnostics in both countries.
The diagnostic will entail detailed assessments to better understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats affecting selected pharmaceutical value chain sub-units.
The analysis is expected to provide a set of recommendations to guide a phased industry development, including actions and reforms necessary to unlock the potential for manufacturing of medicines, essential equipment, and health related products.
