Six of our playgrounds do not have the proper impact absorption to meet CSA requirements. Surfacing requirements must meet, at minimum, the CSA-Z614-20 to ensure our playgrounds are up to code and following the CSAZ614-20 Children-s Play spaces and Equipment Standard. SCOPE OF WORK: Supply all labour, material, and equipment to complete the following: - Contractor is responsible to complete first call and secondary line locates prior to ground disturbance. - Install construction fence around the area being excavated and ensure the public has no access during the project. - Remove protective surfacing from the playground and dispose of it. - Remove border from the playground and dispose of them. - Install new 6”x6” pressure treated wood around the entire perimeter of the playground as a border. - Install new landscaping fabric prior to installing the new protective surfacing. - Install a minimum of 12” deep premium washed playground sand. Sand must be high enough to cover all protrusions such as pilings, footings, foundations, and any below grade railings to meet the CSA standards.
