Southeast Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) acquires a polarization microscope, which is used, for example, to study thin and thicker stone samples. The polarization microscope to be purchased should be suitable for studying microstructures and identifying minerals and has automatic functions. The polarization microscope should include a fluorescence observation method and a colordigital camera to shoot samples. The device will be utilized in the research, development and innovation activities of the University of Applied Sciences, so it is hoped for different types of research subjects and materials in terms of versatility, but also for the ease of use for the people whose job description. The device is only occasionally used.
