The Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d'Armement- Executive Agency (OCCAR-EA) is undertaking market consultation in support of the Engin du Genie de Combat (EGC) programme. The objective of the EGC programme is to deliver a military engineering vehicle for the French and Belgian armies. The vehicle will support the fleet of vehicles procured in the frame of the SCORPION programme. The vehicle will provide a rapid and agile engineering capability that will fulfil numerous roles on and behind the battlefield. Including, but not limited to: obstacle clearance, construction of defences, firing positions and embankments. The vehicle will be armoured and equipped with a remote defensive capability. The programme is expected to deliver a maximum of 200 vehicles by 2040 with first deliveries due in 2031 and prototypes supporting the qualification in 2029. The total spend on this programme is estimated between €800M and €1.2Bn (development + deliveries + initial in-service support). Aspects of the requirements on threat protection are classified up to NATO SECRET therefore potential suppliers would be required to have Facility Security Clearance.
