Tender Details

Tenders are invited for Procurement process for RD Project on Power Market Analysis in Iberia.
This research project aims to analyse the power market in the Iberian Peninsula, focusing on integrating long-term price forecasting and short-term dispatch options for renewable energy system (RES) promoters. It consists of two main research points:

1-Technical Survey on Ancillary Services:
• Model and simulate the provision of ancillary services in Portugal and Spain, identifying needs, volumes, and new flexibility provision services/products.
• Identify technologies capable of responding to electrical disturbances and recommend revenue potentials based on technical capabilities.
• Determine ancillary service needs and additional inertia in Spain and Portugal.
• Test international coordination of reserve provision platforms within European Transmission System Operators (TSOs).
• Identify remuneration mechanisms for ancillary and flexibility services in Iberian control areas.
• Conduct a technical case study using CTGE assets for ancillary services in Spain.
2-Market Model Simulation Platform Development:
• Develop a simulation model to assess the economic viability of providing ancillary services with current and new assets.
• Compute intraday and day-ahead electricity prices for economic assessment.
• Create methodologies for assessing ancillary services provision and energy market participation.
• Support CTGE in applying for ancillary services provision in selected case studies.
• Develop revenue staking models to support investment decisions and operation strategies for RES.
