Description : OVERVIEW
For more than a decade, Davao enjoys direct connectivity with Singapore, which bring in both international and returning Filipinos straight to the region. Prior to the pandemic, two airlines, Silkair and Cebu Pacific Air had direct Singapore-Davao flights. Currently, Scoot Air operates Singapore-Davao flight 7x weekly.
Despite this connectivity advantage, the Singapore market is only at the top 7 in the list of Davao-s international tourist market. It has been observed that there have been more Davaoenos flying out of Davao to Singapore, than Singaporeans visiting the region.
With this data, DOTxI has been more aggressive in its efforts to promote and market Davao to the Singaporeans. Last September 2023, DOTxI led the Davao Business Mission in Singapore, where more than 30 Singapore agents attended the Davao Product Update and business-to-business activity.
