Under the leadership of N I 1, the BMUV is prepared on the basis of the future framework program of the CBD (currently: "First Draft", new global biodiversity framework for autumn 2022) and the EU biodiversity strategy 2030 since the end of 2019 the in terms of content-strategic reorientation of the national biodiversity strategy 2020 before. The aim of the new strategy is a high level of ambition for a future -oriented biodiversity strategy with a transformative character.
In addition to the (new) "National Biodiversity Strategy" with long-term (2030 ff) orientation and (around 40) quality goals, the new concept "Post 2020" sees a "national action plan" with medium-term (3-5 years) orientation and specific measures or action goals in around 15 fields of action.
At the moment, the targets and measurements of the individual fields of action are being examined and revised in BMUV internal technical discussions.
