Request for proposals are invited for Provision of Hhelehhele Protection Upgrades.

Hhelehhele Substation 132 kV Bays:
i) This consist of 4 x 132 kV Line Bays, 2 x 132/66 kV Auto Transformer Bays, 1 x Bus Section Bay, 1 x Bus Coupler Bay and 132 kV Bus Zone.
 This equipment requires ABB IEDs and other panel components retrofits which will be specified under specification section on this tender document.
 Drawings will be provided, and contractor will have to do modifications on the circuits and issue new as commissioned drawings.
 Establish Ethernet network for all IEDs via a central Ethernet switch to be installed in one of the Bay Panels. Ethernet cables to be used for connection between IEDs and switch. The switch should be linked with
optic Fibre cable to RTU device.
 Condition of control cabling has been assessed and do not need replacement. The contractor will supply and install any additional cables required as per their proposal. The existing cable trenches will be used.
Hhelehhele Substation 66 kV Bays
ii) This consist of 6 x 66kV Line Bays, 1 x Bus Coupler Bay, 1 x Bus Section Bay and 66 kV Bus Zone.
 A full solution is required for all this Bays i.e., replacement of all
Protection and control panels. The contractor will supply, install, and commission all bay protection and control panels.
 The IEDs will be specified to match remote end protections of every transmission Line since fiber communication compatibility is a requirement for Line Current Differential protection schemes.
 Control cables from all primary plant to secondary plant will have to be supplied and installed by contractor. Contractor to construct proper cable trenches with reinforced concrete trench covers.
