Expression of Interest are invited for Railway Connectivity Between GCC and Mashreq.

MNAs trade integration (within the region and with the rest of the world) remains below expectations. Rail services in the MNA region are underdeveloped but could provide shorter times and comparable costs for routes between the GCC and Mashreq and to Europe. The overall objective of the consultancy is five-fold:

(i) To estimate the domestic, regional, and international demand for two the railway alignments (connecting GCC to Mashreq and beyond)
(ii) To assess the direct jobs creation and GHG emissions changes from the two railway alignments.
(iii) To develop institutional options for supporting the development of two railway alignments.
(iv) To develop private sector participation options for the supporting the development of two railway alignments
(v) To identify complementary investments along the two railway alignments to maximize their utilization.
