Detailed_Description : Realty Services are required to assess and meet the real estate needs of mentally incapable clients under the guardianship of the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT), and for estates administered by the OPGT. The OPGT has a responsibility to secure Realty Services on behalf of its clients and estates, in a cost-effective, transparent, and efficient manner.

Scope of Work : The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) is seeking Realty Services from one province-wide provider who is required to assess and meet the real estate needs of mentally incapable clients under the guardianship of, and for the estates administered by the OPGT.The OPGT acts as guardian of property for mentally incapable adults whose financial affairs are managed through the province of Ontario. As guardian of property, the OPGT has a legal duty to act in the best interest of its client. The OPGT also administers the estates of Ontario residents who have died leaving no eligible persons to administer their estates. The OPGT has a fiduciary duty to protect the assets of these estates, and act in the best interests of the lawful beneficiaries. Depending on the client or estate-s individual circumstances, the OPGT must identify, secure, and liquidate the real estate assets. The properties administered by the OPGT are comprised of residential homes (including single-family dwellings, semi-detached, or condominiums), farms, cottages, occupied and vacant properties, vacant lots, commercial or industrial properties, and potentially mining or other rare properties. The OPGT has a regional office structure, with six (6) offices located throughout the province of Ontario. The offices are located in Toronto, Hamilton, London, Ottawa, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay. Real Estate Services Provider may be required to communicate with all offices.
