Renovation of Roads in Halabja City Centre and Construction of a Sewerage Network in Sirwan/ Halabja Governorate

1 Demarcating and Site Preparation: Demarcating and fixing
(Benchmarks) by installing 12 mm steel bar inside concrete in
appropriate places in which for each (250) meter length, one
benchmark is required. Provide technical team, necessary
equipment (Total Station) for checking and surveying the site plan
of the project, and also designing the connection of side roads to
the main road, considering the steps of households and shops in
the area, designing the profile width of sections (according to the
attached drawings) for every (20) m width of the road (roads and
sewages) by using (Land AutoCAD or Civil 3D) programs. After
completing the profile design, documentations must be submitted
to authorized committee in Halabja Directorate of Municipality on
(CD) and (A3 or A0) papers for approval, made by an engineering

2 Manhole Works: Provide materials and manpower for lowering
and raising wall by concrete (C 30) for the existing manholes
according to the design level of the streets in which the top
surface of manholes must have same level with the finish level of
the road. The price also includes cleaning of the manholes
according to the instructions of supervisor engineer. NO 7
3 Construction of Manhole Covers: Constructing reinforced
concrete cover slab (C30) (1.8*1.8)m of 25 cm thickness as per the
attached drawings with a minimum concrete cover 25mm under
and over reinforcement and stippling, installing the cast iron with
internal diameter not less than (60) cm, weight of the moveable
circular cast iron cover not less than (90 Kg) and the base of the
cast iron cover not less than (90 Kg), the frame and base of the
cast iron cover must be fixed and embedded inside of each
manhole's concrete cover also making 2 embedded hooks at the
corners. This item also includes cleaning the manholes as per the
instructions of supervisor engineer. NO 7

4 Constructing concrete attached inlets having internal dimensions
of (0.4x0.60)m of variable depth according to site requirement:
Supply materials, equipment's, tools and labors to constructing
attached inlet with reinforced concrete. The work includes
excavation, backfilling, placing 10cm crushed stone for beds with
good compaction, casting with (C26) R.concrete 15cm thickness
for the foundation&walls, fairface surface, painting the internal
surfaces with three coats of flin-coat, provision of materials and all
that required to connect & make the job complete in every part &
detail to provide and fix the grills for the road gullies (water inlets)
cast iron grills with frame their weights not less than (130 kg.).
Also, providing materials, equipment, manpower for connecting
the inlets to the main sewage system by using UPVC pipe outer
diameter (225mm) (10 bar) wall thickness of (10.8 mm) (weight of
10.8 Kg/m), and casting (10cm) of concrete around the pipes (C21).
Price includes fixing the cover on the same level of the street and
to dispose the garbage to the place, all required accessories and all
the works must carried out according to the attached drawings,
standard specifications and to the instructions of the supervising

5 6"Sewerage lines UPVC pipe white color (OD=150 mm, 4.70 mm
wall thickness, DN160*EN3.2 (6 bar), TS275 1329-1): Supply
materials, machinery and man power to excavate of a trench min.
(60 x 50)cm in all type of soils, even rocky, removal of debris to the
sites as directed by Engineer. The price includes provide and install
UPVC pipes/laying and connecting the UPVC pipes of Min.1% slope
with special glue to be installed inside a concrete (C21), 10cm
thickness surrounding the pipe for connecting the drainage system
of houses and public places to the existing inlets or manholes
according to site requirement with all necessary fittings and
accessories (Tee, Elbow 45/90 degree, divider …etc.) according to
attached technical drawing. After laying a layer of nylon, backfilling
upto the sub-base level with sub-base material type (B) in layers
with compaction, and all the work must be executed according to
the standard Iraqi General Specifications. M.L 50
6 Cutting Asphalt or Concrete Work: Preparation equipment,
material, necessary staff and cutter for cutting line path containing
of Asphalt or concrete with necessary width. This price includes
removing, loading and transporting of excavated material to out of
the municipality boundary. All works should be done according to

7.0 Asphalt Road Construction
7.1 Asphalt Milling: Renting milling machine (laser sensor) for milling
(crushing) the top surface of asphalt road with thickness of (4 to 6)
cm, the price includes removing, loading and transporting of
crushed asphalt material to out of municipality boundary. All the
works should be done according to supervising engineer
instructions. M

7.2 Provide material, necessary machineries for preparing hot asphalt
mix, kerosene (Tack Coat) and spreading over (stabilizer) layer
using proper machineries, all the process should be according to
(R&B-01 - R&B-10) in Iraqi Standards for road pavement
construction (2003). All the works of this item must be according
to standard specifications and instructions of supervising engineer. M

7.3 Preparing batch, necessary equipment's, machineries, and
manpower for preparing hot asphalt mix binding agent for laying
binder course base layer (6)cm with a (10)m width of the road and
proper compaction to (97%), all the works must be according to
(R9-01 to R9-17) in Iraqi Standards for road pavement construction
(2003). All the works of this item must be according to standard
specifications and instructions of supervising engineer. M

8.0 Road Concrete Pavement
8.1 Provide materials, man power and equipment to casting rigid
pavement of 15 cm thickness of reinforced concrete 26Mpa with
BRC net (15*15) cm of 6mm thickness for low traffic site streets.
The work includes making an open channel during casting the
concrete at the center of the street, edge shuttering if needed,
using copter and making joints every 5m with thickness by cutter.
This item also includes curing with approved type of (Compound
curing). All the works should be carried out as per the attached
drawings and instructions and satisfaction of the supervisor
engineer. M

Sewer Construction
A1 Supply materials, machinery and man power to construct
sewer line with (Double wall corrugated HDPE pipes, base
and surrounding of the pipes with (Sand material according to
the drawing and connect new sewer with main existing sewer
system). The contractor is responsible for fixing any defects
in electrical, internet underground cables and breaking pipes
during excavation works. The work includes excavation in all
type of soil including rock layers and any needed diversion
for water or the access road if needed, so directed by the Site
Engineer. The item includes laying the pipe over 20cm
thickness of sand and jointing of the pipes as in ( ASTM D
2321) all necessary fittings. The width and depth of the trench
should be according to the drawings and more according to
the site requirement, backfilling with sand upto 30cm above
the top of the pipe, and then backfilling to the original natural
ground level with approved selected material in layers each
layer to be compacted, and backfilling the top two layers each
layer (20)cm to be compacted to (92%) MDD to the approval
of supervisor Engineer, and all the work must be executed
according to the drawings and the standard Iraqi General
Specifications.

B Construction of manholes
B1 The works includes provision of all the machineries, required
materials, construction equipment, labors to excavating depth
and dimensions according to required design level and site
requirement (will be provided by municipality of Halabja), all
that are required to make the job complete in every part &
detail to construct manholes in accordance with the following
items of work also connecting the final manhole to the
existing sewer system, backfilling with good compaction after
constructing the manholes, transporting all the debris to
outside municipality and all the works will be carried out
strictly in accordance with technical specifications, drawings
and instructions of the supervising engineer.
Supplying materials and placing in proper position 10 cm
thick layer of crushed stone with proper compaction and
casting 25 cm thick of R.concrete of class (C 21) for the
manhole foundation and 20cm for the walls according to the
sketch and instructions of the supervising engineer. Fairface
formwork for the walls, installing water stop while casting the
base, installing internal iron ladder and painting the internal
& external surfaces of manhole with two coats of bituminous
or three coats of flin coat.
Constructing reinforced concrete cover slab (C 30 ) 25cm
thickness as per attached drawings with a minimum concrete
cover of 25 mm under and over reinforcement and stippling,
installing the cast iron with internal diameter not less than
60cm, best Turkish type or any local type that have properties
similar to Turkish bran as per the satisfactions of municipality
