This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Purchasing and Contracts, on behalf of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, plans to award a firm fixed-price contract on a sole-source basis to Precision for Medicine, located in Frederick, Maryland 21701-2903. This contract will cover repository freezer storage services for both existing and new sample storage. The period of performance will be from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
The purpose of this requirement is to ensure the continuity of research for existing resources by maintaining the storage and inventory of current research samples, as well as any newly collected samples. Precision for Medicine will provide the following services: securing, receiving, cataloging, processing, storing, and distributing human biological specimens. Currently, approximately 190, 000 samples are stored, many of which are historical samples that document research and the history of Hepatitis C and other infectious diseases. These samples are crucial for ongoing and future research. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of studies conducted on these samples, research investigators must be confident that the identification, storage, suitability, and integrity of the samples are being properly maintained.
