Detailed_Description : The Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, have identified fifteen (15) sites in total where EV chargers will be deployed at government-owned properties along key provincial travel corridors and destinations, in rural and northern areas of Ontario, including highway rest areas, carpool lots, and Provincial Parks. The Ministries are targeting remote, underserved areas of the province to reduce range anxiety, fill network gaps, and build local redundancy. The Ministries are focused on providing a convenient, fast, and reliable charging experience for EV drivers. This is part of the Province-s efforts to expand public EV charging infrastructure and support implementation of the Government Sites Stream of the EV ChargeON program that was announced on October 20, 2023. The Ministries are seeking an effective, collaborative, and established Contractor to help deliver on this important government initiative.

Scope of Work : The Ministries are seeking a single Contractor to act as a charge point operator to design, build, supply, install, operate, and maintain a network of public-facing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) consisting of:•Level 2 AC (Alternating Current) Charging Stations•Direct Current Fast Charge (DCFC) Charging Stations or “Level 3 Charging Stations”•Backend and frontend software and system components•Network operations and maintenanceThe successful Contractor will be responsible for supplying and installing the EV chargers and supporting equipment, including Battery-Integrated DCFC Charging Stations or a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at specified locations. The Contractor will also be responsible for civil works that form part of the design and construction Deliverables and will be required to coordinate service connections with Local Distribution Companies. The successful Contractor will be responsible for operating and maintaining the network of EVCS for the duration of the Contract, including any extensions that may be exercised by the Ministries. The fifteen (15) locations are distributed across the province, with a concentration in northern Ontario, where gaps in public charging infrastructure are most prevalent.
