Title : Research to understand the evolving role of agents in international student recruitment
Location Of Contract : E20 1JQ
Industry : Market research services - 79310000
Value Of Contract : £0
Description : Overseas study agents ("agents") play a key role in international education, with 39 per cent of prospective international students either using an agent or planning to do so. However the role of agents varies from country to country, and is also evolving over time, for example with the rise of third-party organisations that centralise management of recruitment agents digitally for UK HEIs through the use of sub-agents ("online aggregators"). Issues such as changes to agents' business models, the support they offer to students, and the lasting impact of changes to the sector during the Covid pandemic are not fully understood. The British Council requires an in-depth analysis of global trends in agents' engagement with prospective international students, which will help us to better understand current and upcoming trends in global student mobility and to better support both UK institutions and the agents who help them recruit overseas students.
