Background The County is seeking proposals to provide engineering services for the Balsam Avenue Regional Pathway Construction & Upgrade Project. Included in the County-s Recreation and Parks Master Plan 2021 (attached in Appendix E) is the County-s Active Transportation Network (Pathway and Trails) which outlines the County-s pathway and trail network ranked by short to long-term priorities. The project aims to enhance the functionality, safety, and aesthetics of the pedestrian regional pathway network within the Bragg Creek region. This project is essential to accommodate increased foot traffic and improve accessibility. The objectives of the project are: • Upgrade the existing south pathway along Balsam Avenue. • Design and construct a new pathway along the north side of Balsam Avenue. The proposal is for comprehensive assessment, planning, detailed design, and construction administration. The project limits are located along Balsam Avenue between Burnside Drive and River Drive North.
