As consortium leader, the Ruhr University Bochum is tendering a framework contract for IT security software for endpoints with a focus on workstation protection and servers for universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. To ensure the availability and integrity of university networksare, powerful and reliable security software is essential to protect clients and servers. The threat posed by malware and ransomware is constantly growing and the attack scenarios are becoming more and more sophisticated. This makes security software that has a very high detection rate bis in place, ensures comprehensive protection and is technically up-to-date in order to offer the best possible security and thus enable the safe operation of the universities. The current contract (project security.nrw) expires after five years on September 30, 2024 and requires ancontinuation without incident in order not to endanger the protection of the endpoints. The contract should run again for five years, as the interventions in the infrastructure and thus the effort involved in introducing such software for the participating universities can be very high.
