IFC currently implements theLuna Livestock and Out-Grower Advisory Project that aims at establishing asemi-intensive goat finishing facility that can supply the Luna ExportSlaughterhouse, IFC Advisory client, with 1, 000 goats & sheep per day forprocessing. The goal of the project that was launched in March 2017 and isscheduled to be completed by June 2025 (after several timeline extensions) isto support the establishment of the first semi-intensive goat farm in Ethiopiathat meets best international practice in its production efficiency, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare. IFC seeks the servicesof a consultancy firm, either based in Ethiopia or working in partnership witha local firm in Ethiopia, to conduct the smallholder farmer endline survey datacollection, which builds on the baseline data collection completed in the SouthOmo zone in April/May 2021.The assessments will provide IFC with information and insights that will beused to evaluate the project-s effects on smallholder farmers and improve thedesign and implementation of similar projects in the future. Specifically, theendline survey will help address the following key questions related to theproject: How did the project affect farmer household agricultural practices related to animal husbandry and trading, feed production, disease control etc.? How did the project affect farmers- access to vet services, markets, extension services, information?What is the project-s impact on production costs, household income and poverty reduction?What is the project-s impact on household food security and dietary diversity?How did the project affect the status and empowerment of women within farming households?
