Description
BACKGROUND
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks information on commercial vendors that are capable of providing a specific set of high-vacuum turbomolecular pumps, cryogenic pumps and dry roughing pumps to participate in an Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract vehicle as defined in FAR Part 16.5. The pumps will be used to support multiple departments within NIST, such as the Boulder Microfabrication Facility, the NIST Center for Neutron Research, and the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology. These are needed for multiple departments as tool down time causes delays in critical NIST projects and increases operational costs with vacuum pump failures constituting a large percentage of the tool failures. This IDIQ is being considered to allow an ordering vehicle for the as replacement of some vacuum pump models. The attachment “Pumps List” outlines the current type, manufacturer and series of pumps used at NIST. After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed, NIST may conduct a competitive procurement. NIST is highly interested in determining if there is a Small Business manufacturing market to meet this need.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
See attachment “Pumps List” for a list of brand name or equal pumps being considered. Condition: NIST will consider both new and refurbished vacuum pumps. Refurbished pumps must include a full “as new” warranty. For refurbished pumps, the vendor shall include information about how each vacuum pump is evaluated, refurbished, and tested. A general overview of the process is acceptable. Equivalence: The vendor may suggest equal performance pumps using other brand or model equipment however alternates must connect to facility and equipment in the same manner without modification. Supply: The vendor does not need to supply every pump listed in the attachment “Pumps List”. Indicate which vacuum pumps can be provided. Indicate ‘new-, ‘refurbish...
