Notice of Intent to Sole Source AwardTHIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Joint Administrative Operations, Acquisition & Property Operations. USFWS IRTM Headquarters intends to award a firm fixed price sole source base plus four option year contract under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) - Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the suppliers or services are unique or highly specialized:Hexagon US Federal, Inc.301 Cochran RD SWHuntsville, Alabama 35824The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541511, Custom Computer Programming Services. The object of this sole source award is to have continued access to the ERDAS software provided by Hexagon US Federal. Hexagon US Federal develops a suite of software products under the ERDAS label. This line of software products incorporates geospatial image processing and analysis and remote sensing into a single powerful, convenient package. ERDAS IMAGINE enables users to easily create value-added products such as 2D and 3D images, 3D flythrough movies and cartographic-quality map compositions from geospatial data. ERDAS software will be used by the USFWS for manipulating imagery data values and positions, making it possible to see features that would not normally be visible in remote sensing imagery and to locate geo-positions of features that would otherwise be graphical.
