NO SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS are available for this notice. Responses to this Sources Sought notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP), or Invitation for Bid (IFB).

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice to determine the capabilities of both small AND large business firms. Qualified companies, regardless of their size or socio-economic status, are encouraged to respond. Two or more small business firms capable of performing this work may help to guide the acquisition strategy and influence potential set-aside. Businesses are strongly encouraged to review this SOURCES SOUGHT and submit according to the directions in this notice.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The United States Army Corps of Engineers - Soo Project Office (USACE-SPO) will be seeking a contract with intent to improve mission capability, readiness, safety, and longevity of the OLM-0033 excavator barge. Work to be performed is described in the synopsis below:

Implement minor American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) structural and mechanical adjustments to the vessel based on Government provided ABS report that reviewed existing conditions and as-built drawings for class assignment. Consult with ABS to develop an approved repair plan for hull plating and structure damage.

Remove all fendering, hatches, machinery, and hardware excluding crane, excavator, and office connex on the exterior hull structure and arrangements. Clean fuel and lube tanks in preparation for blasting and inspection. Remove damaged hull shell plating and/or framing members indicated in contract attachments. Spuds and spud guides will be disassembled prior to arrival by Government.
