Responses to this notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitationThe purpose of this announcement is to perform market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors) SBA size standard $19 Million. The West Haven and Newington VA Connecticut (CT) medical centers require recurring steam quality and purity testing to ensure compliance with VHA Directive 1116 (Management of Critical and Semi-Critical Reusable Medical Devices). VHA Directive 1116 requires compliance with utility water, steam, and critical water standards for all Reusable Medical Device (RMD) reprocessing. Critical water standards are noted as taken from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), specifically AAMI ST108:2023 (Water for the processing of medical devices). The focus of this work scope is steam quality and purity. Steam purity refers to the amount of solid, liquid, or vaporous contamination in the steam. High-purity steam contains very little contamination. Steam quality is a measure of the amount of moisture in the steam (or liquid contained in the steam). It is expressed as the weight of dry steam in a mixture of steam and water droplets. The water in steam can cause erosion in pipes and valves of the boiler.
