The study will support DG GROW-s work on identifying the possible IP-related challenges and opportunities for the players in the EU agricultural biotech sector, including biotech companies, plant breeders and farmers, esp. against the backdrop of emergence and the uptake of NGTs and their products in the EU. It will also support DG GROW-s work in identifying possible IP measures or tools that could contribute to further encouraging innovation and further boosting the competitiveness of the sector, while promoting access to new breeding techniques and biological material.
