Sustainability of the Value Chain - A Project for Business and Meeting Tourism Companies
Task description: Several companies have already become accustomed to collecting sustainability data so that they can report the impact of climate and their own employees. But now it is no longer enough to look inward. Companies will soon be able to explain to their customers in relation to their supplier's impact on the environment, including climate, nature, water pollution and waste. In this way, tourism companies are now increasingly being asked about data from suppliers while also having to obtain data from their subcontractors. Under the auspices of Sustainable Tourism Development, supported by the Danish Business Promotion Board, Meetdenmark is operating the effort on sustainable business and meeting tourism including the project Sustainability Irright . The project must help more companies get the necessary knowledge and tools to work with sustainability throughout the value chain. The project will support a number of business and meeting tourism companies in ensuring sustainability and accountability in their own value chains as well as supporting knowledge and best practice in the rest of the industry through the dissemination of knowledge and development of cases. There are good examples of Danish business and meeting tourism companies that are already actively working with sustainability across the value chain, and the experience shows that there is much to be gained from the environmental and climate account.
