Tenders are invited for Sustainable and Climate Smart Tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
Consulting services are required to assess key gaps, identifying opportunities, and facilitating a policy dialogue in Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco as they develop tourism recovery plans and programs, in support of the development of green, resilient, and inclusive tourism for job creation, economic recovery, and climate-smart actions. The consultant will be conducting reviews and analytical assessments, policy dialogues, stakeholder workshops, and global knowledge sharing activities. The specific activities the consultant will undertake are: (1) Developing a rigorous cross-country methodological framework, (2) Developing country tourism sector briefs and building analytics and recommendations -- Generating country tourism sector profiles. These profiles will provide information on the status of tourism sector, understand its segmentation, identify risks to long term sustainability, climate change impacts and opportunities for sustainable and climate smart practices, and Building analytical assessments and recommendations towards green, resilient, and inclusive tourism.?(3) Conducting policy dialogues, stakeholder workshops, and capacity building for green, resilient, and inclusive tourism.? This includes (i) Participating in co-visioning, identification, and prioritization of needed policy reforms and interventions for green, resilient, and inclusive tourism through policy dialogues and workshops; and the relevant policy notes on sustainable and climate-smart tourism for priority countries (ii) Leading on capacity building and global knowledge sharing/exchange?, and (iii) Exploring potential to generate critical geo-referenced tourism data that will inform the development of web-based repository of sustainable tourism knowledge and practices for MNA region.
