Description : Project Overview: UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, hereafter referred to as the Purchaser, carries out research into the use of controlled fusion for the generation of power. The Single Joint Test Rig or SOJ will be used to test systems with a vertical travel component. It should be noted that although it will be necessary to manufacture the components to the exacting standards required for the Purchaser's site, they will not be operating in a radiation environment. The specification details the requirements for the procurement of the SOJ and forms part of the invitation to supply. Due to time pressures involved in the delivery of this project, the Purchaser will attach significant importance to submissions with shorter but realistic and justified, timelines.
