Tenders are invited for TESCO & CANRIG Top Drive Major Overhaul MOH


cope of Work: TDS (CANRIG 1035AC-500 & TESCO ExI 600 HP) Major Overhaul
1. Receive Top Drive in workshop.
2. Degrease and Pressure Clean.
3. Disassemble the Top Drive unit.
4. Grit Blast and clean
5. Conduct Dimensional inspection, Check parts as per manufacturer-s recommendation.
a. Ensures all components are within acceptable tolerances
b. Complete visual inspection for worn or damaged components
c. UT inspection of mudline for wall thickness
6. Conduct MPI, WFMPI, NDT, UT as applicable on all components. Perform a magnetic particle
inspection on all load-bearing components over their entire surface (Including internal bores) to reveal
any fatigue or crack indications. the load bearing components are:
 Spindle
 Yoke and Link Assembly (TESCO TDS).
 Quill
 Split Ring- Split Ring Grooves
 Load Nut components (TESCO TDS).
 Upper link support
 Rotary manifold outer sleeve.
 Load Collar ( TESCO TDS)
 Housing
 Upper links
 Bail
 Block Interface
 Upper link pins(4)
 Mudline, Gooseneck & Elbow - Also require UT for wall thickness.
 Male Half Coupling.
 BUW Inner and Outer tube. ( CANRIG TDS)
 Torque Arrest system ( TESCO TDS)
 Runner Frame. (CANRIG TDS).
 Dolly (TESCO TDS).
 Gear Strain (Bull gear, Intermediate bull gear, Intermediate pinion & Input pinion) (replace as
necessary).
 Gear Box Housing and bearing retainers
 Torque Tube (sandblast/MPI).
7. Conduct initial inspection (IIR) and send REPORTS TO ABRAJ Clearly stating extent of damage and
additional spares required to be changed in addition to Mandatory spares. ( Abraj will Supply the
Parts)
8. Check all bearings, seals, and seal running surfaces, gears, and splines. Refurbish as necessary.
9. Replace all gearbox bearings, seals, O-rings, lubrication hoses and auxiliary hydraulic.
10. Replace Torque Boost Seals and, O-rings (CANRIG TDS).
11. Reassembling all component by replacing all repair kit with OEM repair kit only.

a. Disassemble grabber cylinder, inspected, if damage then reseal, and reassembled. Conduct
pressure test. Test at 2500 PSI & 15 min, drop pressure should not Exceed 100 Psi.
b. Disassemble the Rotary Manifold Assembly (RLA), inspected, if any damage Reseal and
pressure test it. pressure test all the ports with 3000 Psi & 15 min, drop pressure should not
exceed 100 Psi.

c. Hydraulic manifold is removed and disassembled. Flush the manifold. Conduct pressure test
to 3000 Psi for 15 Min.
d. Hydraulic manifold circuit relief valves to be replaced.
e. the Auxillairy Mainfold to be removed and disassembled. Flush the Manifold, conduct presssure test

All auxilliary Manifold Circuit relief valve to be replaced )TESCO TDS(
f. All directional valves are flushed, resealed and bench tested.
g. All hydraulic hoses to be replaced.
h. All cylinders are refurbishing using OEM repair kit.
i. Oil cooler to be flushed, inspected, and pressure tested.
j. Conduct Pressure Testing for the Cooler @ 1.3 RWP for (2) cycles of 3 mins & 15 mins.
Pressure drop should not Exceed 2.5% of the test pressure for 15 minutes.

14. Inspect All the Welds in torque Guide System Using Magnetic Particle Techniques As specified on
Inspection Maps at the end of Section 4B of the OEM Manual. (CANRIG TDS).
15. Main electric motor to be changed with New or overhauled one.
16. Perform Main Motor Alignment & Gear Backlash. (CANRIG TDS).
17. Electric motors, blower to be inspected, and resealed.
18. Reassemble the top drive. Adjust endplay.
19. Perform Gear Box leak test for 24 hours and confirm no leaks. (CANRIG TDS)
20. Check all retrofits (secondary retentions) integrity.
21. Perform painting works as per OEM original color (Abraj energy services will provide painting
procedure).
22. Carry out commissioning test run with presence of Abraj representative
23. Field service technician to conduct the commission on rig site.
24. Final Test Package to be Submitted after Job completion with attached picture of before & after
overhauling jobs in accordance with API RP 8B include as below but not limited to:
a. COC for the overhaul.
b. Provide COC of OEM parts
c. MPI reports on critical load areas.
d. UT reports Load test certificate.
e. QAQC report
f. Detailed job steps with pictures
g. One year Warranty certificate
