Detailed_Description : The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) is seeking a Vendor to prepare a reference report of best management practices to reduce the discharge of plastics from operations and activities to receiving sewer and watersheds in Ontario. The Report will be used to support industrial manufacturers, processors, recyclers, or users of plastic, and municipal receivers of stormwaters and wastewaters from industry, to reduce the discharge of plastics. The purpose of the Report will be to provide direction for the consistent interpretation and application of cross-cutting, tiered management and capture technologies, activities, and procedures to reduce the release of plastics and to protect the natural environment.

Scope of Work : The Vendor will be required to prepare a reference report of best management practices to reduce the discharge of plastics from operations and activities to receiving sewer and watersheds in Ontario by undertaking the following deliverables:•A comprehensive review of the relevant literature and national and international programs and policies (primarily conducted by desktop / internet-based research that includes recent and up-to-date reports, case studies, conference proceedings, pilot projects and academic articles to produce a report.•Assembling an External Plastic Team Expertise (EPTE) who-s members provide expertise in: impacts of plastics to human and environmental health; governmental policy and program development related to environmental pollution and protection; are manufacturers, users, processors, receivers or producers of plastic in an industrial manufacturing capacity and have expertise in plastic and waste capture technologies and practices and engineering. The Vendor will circulate interview questions and surveys to gather additional information from these members.•Host a virtual workshop to receive comments and feedback on the Reference Report. The comprehensive Reference Report is to be developed within an eighteen (18) month period to provide options and application of management practices to support industrial manufacturers, processors, recyclers, or users of plastic, and municipal receivers, to reduce the discharge of plastics.
