Tenders are invited for Three Researchers to Develop the Resilience Strategy
Developing a Resilience Strategy for Refugee Camps in Palestine
The primary objective of this TOR is to engage three researchers to collaboratively design a resilience strategy for the refugee camps. The strategy should address:
social and economic status of the population
infrastructure and basic services
social participation and community empowerment
security and safety of the refugee camps- residents.
policies and legislation related to refugees and their rights.
proposed interventions, policies, and legislation related to refugees.
Scope of Work
The researchers will work in tandem, each focusing on one of the three critical areas, while maintaining an integrated approach to ensure the strategies are cohesive and mutually reinforcing.
Researcher 1: Socio-Economic Hardships
Researcher 2: Recession in Social Participation
Researcher 3: Security Threats
Required Qualifications
Researcher 1 (Socio-Economic Specialist):
Master-s degree in Economics, Development Studies, or any other related field.
Experience in socio-economic research and development projects.
At least 5 years of experience in fields related to humanitarian work, crisis management, or community development, social participation, socio-economic, with specific experience in working with refugee camps or hard-to-reach communities.
At least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, the ability to evaluate current conditions, identify needs and priorities, and develop effective strategic plans to achieve desired goals.
Strong analytical skills and excellent report-writing skills in English and Arabic.
Good understanding of Palestine's social, economic, and political situation and knowledge of international and local development efforts in the Palestinian context.
Ability to work in complex and difficult environments, and adapt to challenges and work pressure.
Researcher 2 (Social Participation Specialist)
Master-s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, or any other related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
At least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, the ability to evaluate current conditions, identify needs and priorities, and develop effective strategic plans to achieve desired goals.
At least 3 years of experience in working with refugee camps or hard-to-reach communities, and in community engagement and social participation initiatives.
Strong analytical skills and excellent report-writing skills in English and Arabic.
Good understanding of Palestine's social, economic, and political situation and knowledge of international and local development efforts in the Palestinian context.
Ability to work in complex and difficult environments, and adapt to challenges and work pressure.
Researcher 3 (Security Specialist)
Master-s degree in Security Studies, International Relations, or any other related field.
At least 5 years of experience in security assessment and conflict resolution.
At least 5 years of experience in strategic planning, the ability to evaluate current conditions, identify needs and priorities, and develop effective strategic plans to achieve desired goals.
Experience in working with refugee camps or hard-to-reach communities, and in community engagement and social participation initiatives.
Proven ability to collaborate with security agencies and local communities
A good understanding of security issues, potential threats, and ways to address them and enhance community security.
Strong analytical skills and excellent report-writing skills in English and Arabic.
Good understanding of Palestine's social, economic, and political situation and knowledge of international and local development efforts in the Palestinian context.
Ability to work in complex and difficult environments, and adapt to challenges and work pressure.
