Tender Details

There are two identified off-airport Stage 1 OLS intrusions requiring treatment : Intrusion 1 : a power pole that intrudes the Runway 23R approach surface by 1.21m; and Intrusion 2 : a radio tower that intrudes the Runway 23R inner horizontal surface by 5.90m. The Civil Aviation and Safety Authority (CASA) has advised that the power pole needs to be lowered and the radio tower lit with low intensity lights and marked with marker balls. Removal of the tower is also being considered. The option to remove the radio tower is the preferred government action, but still subject to negotiations with the owner of the radio tower. As a consequence, we request tenderers to quote on both tasks, but note that only one option will ultimately be adopted by the department.
