This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Responses to this sources sought notice must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. VA Tucson Healthcare System, 3601 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85723 has a requirement to purchase the brand name Thermo Fisher Scientific, laboratory freezer and its accessories. This will be a brand name requirement, as the VA Tucson facility has used Thermo Fisher Scientific freezers in the past and is a standardized brand throughout the medical center. VAMC facility is familiar and has been trained to service and repair these freezers to reduce impact on research studies, while also avoiding realignment of numerous samples being stored. Any equipment different would require additional training and maintenance, which could result in additional cost and labor.No remanufactures or gray market items will be acceptable.
